Our 10 Day Package begins with full on exposure to bird life. Lake Naivasha, Lake Elementaita and Lake Nakuru are abundant with so many species of birds. A highlight, of course, being flamingos. The second part is all about the animals. The big cats; lions, leopards and cheetahs. The elephants and buffalos. Giraffes and gazelles. Are you ready to explore?
Day 1: Nairobi – Ol Pejeta
We leave Nairobi after breakfast and make our way northward to the Ol Pejeta Conservancy where we arrive for lunch. Time then to relax before an afternoon game drive at 4pm. There’s a waterhole right outside your room where an abundance of animals gather to drink. Even the rhinos! Here is the only place where you can do an optional night game drive.
Dinner and overnight at Camp/Lodge.
Day 2: Ol Pejeta – Aberdares
After breakfast we make our way to the Aberdares. Our lunch today will be at the Aberdare Country Club; a sister to the lodge where we will stay overnight. We will take with us an overnight bag only. Our main luggage will be held in locked storage at the Country Club until our return tomorrow morning.
We board a bus at 2.30pm which takes us 45 min to our accommodation within the Aberdare National Park. Here we will observe the wildlife at close range from one of four viewing decks or a cosy lounge chair. There is a dedicated photo hide on the lower deck where you are able to take close up uninhibited photography.
Dinner and overnight at Camp/ Lodge.
Day 3: Aberdares – Elementaita
We leave the Ark Lodge at 8am on the bus and drive out of the park and back to Aberdare Country Club. If we get lucky and see animals before exiting the park we will make a stop. Leopards are often seen at this time.
At ACC we collect our main luggage and get on our way to our next destination. Along the way we stop at the Equator for a water demonstration. Morning tea stop is at Thompson Falls (named after the explorer who discovered the Aberdare Mountains and named them after his employer, Lord Aberdare; and who has the Thompson gazelle named after him). Arrive at Lake Elementaita for lunch. Afternoon to relax and take in the view and birdlife.
Dinner and overnight at Camp/Lodge.
Day 4: Nakuru National Park
We head off after breakfast, with our picnic lunch, to do a full day game drive in Nakuru National Park. This park is renowned for having over 400 bird species. Lions and leopard live here too and hunt out buffalo and zebra. Both black and white rhino can be seen along with the Rothschild giraffe. The only park where this giraffe can be seen in the wild.
We’ll head back to Elementaita in the late afternoon so you can relax before dinner with a cold beverage overlooking the beautiful lake.
Dinner and overnight at Camp/Lodge.
Day 5: Elementaita – Maasai Mara
We’ll leave the lake shore this morning and head off to the famous Maasai Mara Reserve arriving for lunch at our lodge. It’s then chill out time before our 4pm game drive. We’ll head out into the park and see what we can find... maybe a pride of lions or a leopard eyeing up a gazelle?
As the sun dips deeper on to the horizon we’ll make our way inside the lodge grounds for our evening relaxation. There’s time for a hot shower and a cold vino before dinner before tucking up in bed to listen to the sounds of the wild. Good night!
Dinner and overnight at Camp/ Lodge
Optional: Balloon safari and a visit to Maasai Village.
Day 6 / 7 / 8 / 9 Maasai Mara
Each day is spent full day game driving. After a hearty breakfast to keep us going, we’ll explore the wonders of this park seeking out the best wildlife sightings for you. Each day is different and we’ll explore a different area each time.
Our prime objective is to find the animals for you to enjoy. We’ll get in the best position possible for great photos without encroaching on the animals comfort and safety. We’ll make this your ultimate safari experience!
At the end of each day it’s back to the lodge to chill out and remember the magic of your discovery.
Dinner and overnight at Camp/ Lodge
Day 10: Maasai Mara – Nairobi
We bid farewell to our home for the past few days and head back to the bustle of the city. We’ll stop briefly in Narok to stretch our legs and have a comfort stop over coffee. A welcome cafe lunch ends our safari before dropping you back at your post safari accommodation.
